Slipway Licences and Permits

SLIPWAY OPEN from Saturday 13 March

Our slipway at Cardiff Rowing Centre (Channel View Centre) will be opening on Saturday 13 March.

Permits can be purchased from the centre’s reception, which will be open every day between 9am – 4pm. Strict social distancing will be in place and payments will be accepted by card only.

Please be aware that toilets, changing rooms and showers will not be available due to Covid-19 guidelines.

We are pleased to offer access to the CBWAC slipway based at Channel View Centre. Currently there are 2 forms of access:

1 – Day Permit

A day permit allows access between 09:00 and 16:30.

£15 - Motorboats, Sailboats and multi-occupancy paddlecraft.

£5   - Kayaks, SUP's and other single-occupancy paddlecraft.

2 – Annual Permit

The cost of the permit is based on meterage of the vessel, for example a 5 metre vessel will cost £174 for the period. This allows unlimited access all of the time, as long as it is safe to do so and in compliance with the rules and regulations set by the Harbourmaster.

For either of these options, please contact Cardiff Rowing Centre on the number/email below to discuss the best option for you:

Please note that there are speed limits in place on both rivers, in the Inner Harbour and by the Locks.

Often there are additional local Notices to Mariners (NTM) in effect, which can be found at www.cardiffharbour.com/local-notices-to-mariners/. It is your duty to be aware of these before launching any vessel.

Failure to comply may result in your access to the bay being revoked. The Harbourmaster is available via (029) 2087 7900 during working hours.
